From Christine and Terry of "Teka Nova"
All went very well yesterday - it was really nice. Loads of people came, both cruisers and Locals - a good 60 people or so. Songs were sung by the singers from First Landing and we all placed flowers in the water, there were quite a few flower arrangements from the locals.
Terry did the MC part, he also read a verse by Henry Van Dyke, which I have placed at the bottom of this E-Mail, it was so fitting, you will see why when you read it.
In addition, a few of us cruisers brought our National Flags along and placed them on the table with the photos and book - Tony wanted the Ship's Log Book to be the book for us to write our messages in - yours is in there.
Tony actually said he really liked the whole event and he said it was a shame Carolyn wasn't there because she would have really enjoyed it as well.
Yes, there were obviously sad moments but there were also a huge amount of happy moments too.
Anyway, just thought you would like to know how the service went.
I believe we are all meeting up tonight for a meal with Tony and Jackie. Jackie is having to go home tomorrow but we will all keep an eye on Tony.
Very Best Wishes

A PARABLE OF IMMORTALITY
by Henry Van Dyke
I am standing upon the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength,
and I stand and watch until at last she hangs
like a speck of white cloud
just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says,
" There she goes! "
Gone where?
Gone from my sight . . . that is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar
as she was when she left my side
and just as able to bear her load of living freight
to the place of destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment
when someone at my side says,
" There she goes! "
there are other eyes watching her coming . . .
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout . . .
"Here she comes! "
