Left Vuda Pt with full diesel tanks (160 litres) and heading off to Musket Cove. Breeze is 10knots SE right on the nose so its a motor all the way until the first mark off the east going reef, turn 50 degrees to starboard and rollout the genoa - first time to have a sail up in 2012 !
approaching the third mark turn another 50 degrees to starboard, furl the genoa and motor through the
dogleg to anchor in 16 metres. 3 cats and Jemellie ( saw / heard) them last year...and the year before..and a small US ketch, I think belonging to the "negotiator" that works for the UN..met him briefly at the bar last year.
Sunday 29 April
Up early and off to Mana Is at 0830....no breeze....boatspeed log not working...wiggle the cable it goes, no it doesn't...can't a find the right spot...wires must be broken...cable feels soft where it exits the transducer...oh well..never mind...means the apparent wind indicator doesn't work...but the wind around here is pretty apparent anyway so its not too much of an issue !
Follow the track through the reefs to Mana Island, follow the Yasawa Flyer in through the dogleg and anchor inside in 7m just opposite the backpackers and its only 1030 !
Will stay here the night and then up early and off to Waya Island tomorrow...no more internet until maybe the Blue Lagoon at the end of the week.
